The men of Little Flock Church began to study and meet together monthly in August of 2012. The purpose behind this endeavor was the fact that men are called by God to lead their homes. However, most men are not equipped to strive toward carrying this out in their lives; thus we began this effort to help us all grow in our ability to study and meditate on scripture individually. We strive to do this in a way which does not detract from the families these men are called to lead.
We study whole books of the Bible by reading through, and meditating on, a chapter each week. The pastor sends out a document each week to assist and facilitate the men in their study on that particular chapter. The men meet together on the 3rd Tuesday night of each month. We have a fellowship supper and discuss what we have been studying individually. Our discussions begin and end with prayer. We have young boys in attendance as well as our adult men, as we pray we can influence them to study and meditate on God’s word.
These meetings have been a fruitful source of growth for all of our men. We have studied through books such as Ephesians, Philippians, John, Acts, Micah, Song of Solomon, Ezra, Nehemiah, Malachi, and Romans. We have also studied through our church’s Articles of Faith as well as a book written about the doctrines of grace. We are serious about helping our men grow in Jesus Christ to the benefit of the church, their families, their places of employment, and the communities where they live.
